The Tulsa Botanic Garden, a long-time favorite spring destination for Tulsa locals, has just announced the addition of more spring events this season.

April 1st: 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. – Oak-Lahoma Nature Story Hour. An event that comes back year after year, All My Sons Tulsa often send families with young children this way; Story hour has activities for a wide variety of ages, starting at 3 years old and up.

According to the most recent data from the U.S. Census Bureau, the Tulsa population grew by almost 11,000 people in the past year. It was the largest one year increase this decade for the Tulsa metro area.

Considering that the average Tulsa population growth rate for this decade is about 7,532 people per year, this means that Tulsa movers have had a very full schedule. In fact, this leap in population numbers is even more impressive when you take into account the fact that 33 counties in the state had shrinking population rates in the past year. Hey, Tulsa must be doing something right!

The leap in numbers of people using their Tulsa movers to relocate to the Sooner State can be explained by the increase in job opportunities. A recent CPS survey revealed that employment rose significantly in Tulsa since the beginning of 2016, with January marking a new high of 460,320 residents employed.

The high growth rate foreshadows the creation of more restaurants, shopping centers, entertainment venues, and transportation options in order to meet of the demands of a growing Tulsa population. Tulsa movers relocating more and more families to the area can only be a good thing; after all, the demand to accommodate the growing population by creating new infrastructure in turn creates more job opportunities for Tulsa locals and newcomers alike.

That being said, All My Sons Tulsa has over 25 years’ experience moving families into their dream home. Join the thriving Tulsa population and call today for a free quote.

The apartment complex will be called The Cottages and will be directly across the street from the Villas luxury apartments. This month, Tulsa public school board members and Superintendent Deborah Gist discussed budget cuts and major changes that would alter the entire school year and system.

All My Sons Moving & Storage Tulsa has been moving families into the area for almost three decades. During that time, families have always loved the fact that many Tulsa public schools have ratings of 9 and 10 by GreatSchools.org. However, would all of that change if Tulsa public schools switched to a four-day school week?

According to discussions with Gist, Tulsa public schools are considering shortening the school week to four days and eliminating transportation for everyone except special education students. Gist and many Tulsa locals say that the discussion is up in the air, but could be necessary in order to be able to function with the anticipated budget cuts they are facing for the 2016-2017 school year, which are anywhere from $7 million to $20 million.

If you are moving to Tulsa, local moving companies know that your child’s school week is a major factor to consider. So, it is best to stay up-to-date with the school board meetings and discussions until the official budget for the 2016-2017 school year is released.

If you already live in Tulsa, make sure to stay up-to-date with Tulsa public schools announcements, schoolboard hearings and agendas, as well as make it to the public meetings where comments and concerns may be heard. Tulsa movers know that for our families, and yours, if you have children education is a top priority.

In 2015, Tulsa home constructions took a downward spiral. In January 2016, a 16.9 percent increase was measured, which makes Tulsa movers and local residents happy to hear; however, it was soon proved to be an unfair statistic, and here’s why.

New Orleans Weekly is a permit tracking service and they measured 214 home permits issued in January, which would indicate a 16.9 percent increase in comparison to last year’s 183. However, the discrepancy comes from the month of January in 2015 compared to the month of January for 2016. In 2015, January had a four-week reporting period. This year, January had a five-week reporting period, so in reality, the month did not perform better.

President of New Orders Weekly, Tim Pepper, explains that when broken down into the number of Tulsa home constructions being issued permits each week, January 2016 had 42.8, while January 2015 had 45.75, reflecting a decrease that has left the amount of Tulsa home constructions flat.

Tulsa moving companies move hundreds of families and individuals to the city and surrounding areas each year, but the number of new homes being constructed is small in comparison to the amount of existing homes being sold. Our movers suggest hiring a real estate agent and staying on top of the housing market if you are not going to build a new home. If you have been looking into building a house in Tulsa, Pepper says that the economy and oil prices has a lot to do with the slump in Tulsa home constructions, so keep that in mind.

The world championship of bass fishing, the GEICO Bassmaster Classic presented by GoPro, returns to Tulsa this year. This is one of the most popular destinations to hold the “Super Bowl of Bass Fishing” tournament. Tulsa movers were thrilled to hear that the Bassmaster Classic was moving back to Tulsa, but even more thrilled that it would be taking place in March this year instead of February, since the weather should be more enjoyable.

“The 2013 Classic was such a tremendous success, we couldn’t wait to return to Tulsa and Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees with our premier event,” said Bruce Akin, B.A.S.S. CEO. “With the support we’ve received from our hosts and our bass fishing fans throughout the region, we’re expecting an even better turnout next year.”

Tulsa movers and packers learned that Ray Hoyt, president of VisitTulsa, worked extremely hard in 2013 at the first event in Tulsa in order to make it a huge success and put Tulsa on the map. As he explains, “We worked our tails off in 2013 to ensure this event was a huge success because we wanted to show our partners at B.A.S.S., and other major league events, what a great place the Tulsa region is. We wanted another Classic the minute the 2013 event was over, and today we can finally say it out loud: The Classic comes back in 2016. A huge thanks to our regional partners, especially Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, for their support in making this a reality.”

If you are moving to Tulsa this month and love fishing, be sure to check out the Bassmaster Classic event details at www.Bassmaster.com
